Triple P supports parents to be the experts on raising their kids: CRAICCHS

Lisa_Johnson.png

Triple P practitioner Donna South, a Kamilaroi woman, is a Family Wellbeing Worker at Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Services (CRAICCHS) who loves working within the First Nations community.

Donna enjoys using the Triple P program because it allows parents to bring their own knowledge and parenting skills to the experience. Importantly, it lets parents remain the experts in raising their children.

She appreciates the variety of options to deliver the training to families, whether it’s in group settings or individually. The strategies allow the parents to have control and choice over their parenting journey.

“It is important that families get a chance to share their stories,” Donna said.

“Being able to yarn is the way we all get to learn about Triple P’s strategies while sharing our own experiences as parents, aunties, uncles, grandparents and community members.”
