PECE – THE POSITIVE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM

The Positive Early Childhood Education Program (PECE) is designed to enhance early childhood professionals’ knowledge, confidence, skills and self-efficacy in implementing strategies that promote children’s development, social competence and self-regulation. PECE is based on the principles of Triple P, further developed and adapted based on research and experience within early childhood education. (More information can be found at www.peceprogram.net)

The PECE Online program gives individual educators 22 strategies to engage with children in positive and supportive ways, encouraging children to reach their potential. It’s made up of four 1-hour online modules including video modeling, interactive activities, and summaries to help educators acquire new knowledge and skills, self-evaluate their performance, and set their own goals for change. After completing the online program, educators may do two to four practice sessions with a PECE Coach.

PECE Coach Training
Center directors, lead teachers, supervisors, or consultants can complete face-to-face training to become a PECE Coach. This includes learning the content of the online program and the consultation skills necessary to facilitate practice sessions with educators using a self-regulatory approach.

NOTE: PECE Coach Training doesn’t qualify as training to deliver Triple P to parents. However providers who are already trained to deliver Triple P may be able to do PECE Coach Training as an extension course, if available.
